One year after opening an office in Switzerland, FINA Official Partner Myrtha Pools organised today a visit to the future Malley Aquatic Complex in Lausanne (SUI). The Italian company will provide the pools of the facility – one 50m and one 25m pool, one diving pool, and one leisure pool –, which Is scheduled to open in October 2020. It will be a much-need venue in the Olympic capital, where the FINA Headquarters are also based.

The future 50m-pool in the Malley complex

In the visit to the Malley site, Myrtha Pools representatives were accompanied by guests coming from FINA, city of Lausanne, Swiss Swimming Federation, Swiss Timing, local swimming clubs, and naturally the responsible for the construction of the complex.

“We are very happy to be associated with this important project. Thanks to the international exposure of our high-standard products, used in Olympic Games and FINA World Championships, the city of Lausanne honoured us with the provision of the swimming pools here in Malley”, considered Marcus Roettger, International Business Development director at Myrtha Pools. “We are much more than a company doing pools for elite competitions – in fact, it’s only about 10% of our business -, but this component is a very strong marketing argument for Myrtha Pools”, he added.

Patrick Wohlhauser, responsible for Myrtha Pools’ office in Givisiez (SUI) was also a happy man: “We have opened our office in Switzerland in July 2017, and we are working very fruitfully with some swimming clubs and leisure facilities. We are not in a huge market, but in a rather demanding one, so we thought it would be better to offer our services closer to our potential customers”, he said.

Myrtha Pools is a FINA Official Partner since 2009, providing swimming pools for the FINA World Championships and FINA World Swimming Championships (25m). In the upcoming edition of the 25m showcase, to take place from December 11-16, 2018 in Hangzhou (CHN), Myrtha Pools will install a temporary pool in an existing tennis complex.
